Two Women Mirrored in the Growth of Their Children
Korean women regard it as a laudable and patriotic deed to bring up their children as pillars of the country.
A lot of women raised their children well to serve the country faithfully. Among them are Ri Yong Hye living in People's Neighbourhood Unit No. 3, Mirae-dong, Phyongchon District and Choe Ok Ae in People's Neighbourhood Unit No. 86, Munsin-dong No. 1, Tongdaewon District in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Ri Yong Hye's two sons are all recipients of the Order of Kim Jong Il and Heroes of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Their successful growth is unthinkable apart from her efforts.
Ri Yong Hye paid deep attention to the growth of her sons with the pride of training scientific and technological personnel who would follow in the footsteps of her husband. She often told them about their father who had devoted himself to structural design in order to fully guarantee the stability of buildings for the people and posterity, always feeling lack of time. And she led them to continue their researches with a single heart to contribute even a little to the building of a prosperous and powerful country like their father.
Thanks to her devoted efforts, her sons could perform distinguished feats in the scientific pursuit for the country and people.
Choe Ok Ae also brought up her two sons as heroes.

  She said:
"People often ask me how I brought up my two sons as heroes. I tell them that I have done nothing to train my sons.
I only gave birth to them. The state fed, clothed and educated them and awarded the title of hero to them.
I am really grateful to the state for its loving care. I tell people frankly like this."
Choe Ok Ae always told her sons to work faithfully for the country wherever they may be and whatever they may do. And she worked as a designer until her retirement, showing her sons in practice how they should devote their whole lives to repay the state benefits.
The hero brothers remember their honest mother who would work on designs even at home.
To them, their steadfast and honest mother who remained faithful to her job was a good example of tireless thinking and pursuit for carrying out their duty, fervent passion and straightforwardness, and true love and devotion for the country and people.
The eldest son of Choe Ok Ae had to leave home for several months for architectural design, but he devoted himself without hesitation to complete it wonderfully. Her second son also did a lot of work for soldiers like their eldest brother.
In those days, the eldest son who is a designer was awarded the title of Labour Hero at the age of 38 and the second son, an army officer, at the age of 40.
Ri Yong Hye and Choe Ok Ae feel a great pride and joy of life in serving as foundation for the future of the country all their lives with the noble and patriotic outlook on life that family affairs constitute state affairs.
They are Communist Mother Honour Prize winners known to the whole country.
Their lives devoted to their children and the country convince the people that the love and devotion for the rising generations mean the true patriotism.
