Bronze Buddha "Manjushiri"

The respected Comrade
The gift represents Manjushiri holding a sword of wisdom in its right hand.
According to a folk legend, Kathmandu was a lake surrounded by rocks in ancient times.
Manjushiri came there and cut rocks enclosing four sides with a sword so that water could drain away from the lake. Since then, people immigrated into the region to settle down.
With this legend, Manjushiri is still worshipped by the Nepalese.
Seen on the stand are the English letters; "Study Forum for Self-Reliance" and "Nepal-2014".
The Buddha is 22.6 centimetres high.
